We are open source enthusiasts who are really driven and interested in open source technologies. We want to share some thoughts and principles that concern the open source movement making this process enjoyable, convenient and beneficial for the community.

Why do I love the open-source philosophy, something I’ve followed since founding my first startup Percona? Open source is about freedom and giving everyone access to the world’s best ideas and discoveries. I believe that the principle of sharing ideas and information is at the heart of the modern scientific and innovation process.

At Percona, we’ve supported open source since 2006, providing open source database expertise and helping our customers. Its software is completely open source and available for everyone to use, whether you are a student or a corporate enterprise.

All the startups I founded were based on open source technologies. I also co-founded and served as a board member of several OS projects. I have published a ton of articles in support of open source culture, explaining the hard points and preventing the substitution of the concept that some companies’ marketers use to attribute the benefits of open source software. It makes me very happy to see open source become a hot topic at technology conferences year after year.

I want to support the open source community as well as to add my vision and to join companions with similar values and concepts. We are building this space for open source discussion and conversation.
